The Industrial Commission has today released the new Real Estate Industry Award 2010 (varied 1 July 2010).  This award is based on a draft, consent award developed by the real estate unions and a real estate employers' consultative group in July 2009.

The award adopts the minimum provisions of the new federal workplace relations legislation, but just as importantly, is finely-tuned to the needs of the real estate industry.

Please Note:  The new award applies to corporations only, not to private (non-corporation) employers.  For now, private employers continue under the existing State awards.

Employers should be award of the mandatory requirement to make AND REGISTER written agreements with their property sales employees.
